Today's podcast is a meditation on these scriptures:- Eph 2:10: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."- Phil 1:6: "And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."- 1 Cor 3:11-15: "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."- Romans 8:28: "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."- John 15:16: "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you." (And one of the fruit we are to bear is patience, or longsuffering, and self-control, Gal 5:22)- Prov 16:32: "Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city."- Prov 14:29: "Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly."- Psalm 75:2: "You say, “I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity."- Eph 4:2: "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."- Psalm 90:2 "Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."- James 4:13-14: "Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes."- Ecc 1:3-8: "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace."- Prov 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

welcome back to another episode of
Christian Natural Health today I'm going
to be kind of meditating on a concept of
patients but a particular type of
patience uh so patients with just things
not going in your day the way that you
expect them too and I did a bible study
on this and was trying to figure out
what do I even search for because most
of the time when I'm looking up a
particular scripture uh concept I can go
to a lot of the main websites and I can
search for you know a topical or a
particular word or phrase or something
like that but in this case patients
generally is in scripture usually refers
to patience with people and that's not
really what I wanted to focus on so much
it's more the the concept of flexibility
when your schedule goes sideways uh and
this is something that I struggle with
which is the reason why I wanted to look
this up uh and so what the Lord led me
to was a couple of specific verses so
I'm just going to read them to you and
then talk about what they mean to me
essentially uh so the first one is
Ephesians 2:10 we are his workmanship
created in Christ Jesus for good works
which God prepared beforehand that we
should walk in them so to me what that
means is the idea that God has got
specific things that he wants each one
of us to do and I think a lot of us have
a tendency to create a lot of clutter in
our schedules a lot of extra things that
maybe he hasn't necessarily called us to
but we really want to get done and
sometimes that makes it difficult for us
to keep the main thing the main thing if
that makes sense so along those lines uh
a backup verse to that is Philippians
1:6 and which says and I am sure of this
that he who began a good work in you
will bring it to completion at the day
of Jesus Christ so that to me it has the
idea of the things that God specifically
calls me to do he's going to make sure
those things get done so I can have
faith and I can trust that if my
timeline my plans get disrupted he's
still going to make sure those things
happen and if it's something that he
never called me to do anyway who cares I
should probably let go of that and
that's where that form of patience and
flexibility I think comes in um and the
next one was 1 Corinthians
31-15 which says for other found no
other Foundation uh can no man lay other
than sorry uh for other Foundation can
no man lay then that is that is laid
which is Christ Jesus now if any man
build upon this Foundation gold Sil and
precious stones wood hay and stubble
Every Man's work shall be made manifest
for the day shall declare it because he
shall be revealed by fire and the fire
shall try every man's work of what sort
it is and if any man's work abide which
he hath built thereon thereup he shall
receive a reward and if any man's work
shall be burned he shall suffer loss but
he himself shall be saved yet so is by
fire so that it's talking about the day
of judgment where God will I mean we're
saved but our particular works are then
going to be judged as to whether or not
these are things that he gave us the the
gold silver and precious stones or if
this is the wood hay and stubble things
that we put on our own schedules that
maybe shouldn't necessarily have been
there and that also was in context of
the previous verses I was thinking more
in terms of okay so if my to-do list
ends up getting disrupted um but they're
things that were on my list and not
necessarily things that God gave me
those are wood hay and stubble anyway
the things that are the gold silver and
precious Stones I can trust that even if
it doesn't happen in my timeline or even
if I really wanted to accomplish it by a
particular date and that doesn't happen
if it's the gold silver and precious
stones the ones that he gave me he's
going to take care of that and I can put
that in the trust bucket something that
he's gonna he's going to deal with like
that's an area of Faith at that point
and along those lines uh so Romans 8:28
and we know that for those who love God
all things work together for good for
those who are called according to his
purpose and I'd always thought of that
verse just in the context of the really
big things the really big bad crap that
happens in life and you can't
necessarily plan for it but God's going
to work it all together for good and
it's that also but it fits for little
annoyances and little disruptions and
the little foxes that spoil the vineyard
as as Solomon talks about in The Song of
Solomon same concept this too he's going
to work together for good um another one
is John 15:16 you did not choose me but
I chose you and appointed you that you
should go and bear fruit and that your
fruit should abide so that whatever you
ask the father in my name he may give it
to you and one of the fruit we are to
bear at according to Galatians 5:22 is
the fruit of patience or longsuffering
and self-control too although I would
argue that in John 15 that's largely
talking about the fruit of answered
prayer but I think it all fits there too
uh Proverbs 16:32 better a patient
person than a warrior one with
self-control than one who takes a city
and that applies to all forms of
patience I think
uh Proverbs 14:29 says whoever is
patient has great understanding but one
who is quick-tempered displays Folly
Psalm 72 ver2 you say i cho I choose the
appointed time it is I who judge with
Equity this is God speaking obviously um
Ephesians 4:2 says be completely humble
and gentle be patient bearing with one
another in love Psalm 90:2 says teach us
to number our days that we may gain a
heart of
wisdom h yeah heart of wisdom like
numbering our days recognizing that our
days are few and I think it's easy to
then get a sense of I have to make every
moment count then and that's true too
like we need to to redeem the time for
the days are evil but there's it's both
sides to this we need to redeem the time
but at the same time we need to trust
that God is going to get us where we
need to go
essentially uh and James 413 to4 now
listen you who say today or tomorrow we
will go to that this or that City spend
spend a year there carry on business and
make money why you do not even know what
will happen tomorrow what is your life
you are a Mist that appears for a little
while and then vanishes so that is the
idea of making all your own plans and
not necessarily checking with the Lord
about it so side note I see an awful lot
of patients who come in just incredibly
busy and they can't find time to you
know do any of the basic life
maintenance things that they have to do
and the conversation there if they're a
Believer is nearly always what are you
doing that God hasn't called you to do
because there's guaranteed to be
something on that to-do list that he
didn't actually put there uh or else he
will give you the bandwidth if you tithe
your time essentially then he can make
your schedule expand so that it all fits
it's one of the two he's ultimately
going to make it all work out whether
it's that you need to jettison some of
the priorities that you thought you had
or whether it's that if you seek first
the kingdom of God as Matthew talks then
all these things will be added to you
it's it's one or the other or possibly a
combination of both uh and then
Ecclesiastes 1 3 to8 there is a time for
everything and a season for every
activity under the heavens a time to be
born and a time to die a time to plant
and a time to uproot A Time to Kill and
a time to heal a time to tear down and a
time to build a time to weep and a time
to laugh a time to mourn and a time to
dance a time to scatter stones and a
time to gather them a time to embrace
and a time to refrain from embracing a
time to search and a time to give up a
time to keep and a time to throw away a
time to tear and a time to mend a time
to be silent and a time to speak a time
to love and a time to hate a time for
war and a Time For Peace um Ecclesiastes
isn't really one of my favorite books
honestly my husband disagrees uh he
really likes it but um I find it a
little bit depressing but at the same
time it to me it's essentially a
depiction of
what the world is like without the Holy
Spirit uh because Solomon kind of went
sideways in later parts of his life but
he's supposed to be the wisest man who
ever lived and that's certainly true
that there's recognize that for every
season that we're in it's got a
particular purpose for that and you
don't necessarily have to do every
single thing all at
once and Proverbs 35-6 so this is kind
of core for nearly everything uh it's
one of my life verses I think trust in
the Lord with all your heart and lean
not on your own understanding in all
your ways acknowledge Him and He will
direct your paths um so those are the
verses that I feel like God showed me uh
as I was trying to pray about this
concept of patience and flexibility with
a schedule and I hope that was helpful
to you thank you for joining me
