New Podcast Announcement: Christian Natural Health

3000x3000

I am happy to announce the launch of my very own podcast: Christian Natural Health!

WHAT A PODCAST IS

If you’re late to the game on the whole podcast thing, it’s kind of a like a radio talk show, except it’s through the internet instead of the radio. You can listen on your computer (see below on “where to get the podcast”) or on your smart phone if you have one. The latter is by far the most convenient, IMHO.

WHAT THE PODCAST IS ABOUT

I called the podcast Christian Natural Health because, well, that’s kind of become my niche market: I find that a lot of patients come to see me specifically because I advertise on my website that I am a Christian. Some share my faith, and some just feel comfortable choosing someone who professes it.

So far, the podcasts I’ve done have been either based on a popular medical topic (determined by which of my blogs tend to get the most traffic!), or they’ve been scripture meditations. I try to do one of each per week.

WHY I LAUNCHED A PODCAST

I listen to a lot of podcasts myself, but I haven’t seen any other shows that overlap natural health with Christianity—so I thought I would create one. Not every episode deals with faith overtly, though. So far most of the medical episodes do not.

I started scripture meditations because, again, I didn’t see anything out there like it: there are podcasts for meditation, but you have to pay for a lot of them, and most of them are not overtly Christian. I was looking for something free and scripture-based and couldn’t find it.

Also, I’ve seen in my practice that a lot of patients who do identify themselves as Christians still don’t spend much time meditating on scripture, or may not know how to do it. These episodes are mostly meant to be an example of how I do it, in order to teach you how you can do the same in your own prayer time.

WHERE TO GET THE PODCAST

You can find my podcast on iTunes, Soundcloud, and Stitcher (all links are here, and also in the browser, upper R corner of my website) or go directly to these platforms and type in Christian Natural Health into the search bar. You’ll recognize it by the logo above.

I’m very open to feedback—I’m new to this! So please tell me (leave a comment or shoot me an email):

  1. What you like and what you don’t like about the episodes I’ve already done?
  2. What do you want to hear more of? Any particular topic recommendations?
  3. Do you like the format where I’m the only one talking? Do you want me to bring on more guests so it’s a conversation?
  4. Do you like the meditation episodes? Should I not combine the meditations with medical episodes, and just stick to one or the other?

If you like it, please don’t forget to subscribe, share it with your friends, and leave me a 5 star review! 😉

I think this is fantastic, I just subscribed! And if I lived in Tucson I would love to try to see you (I am in Flagstaff, AZ). I think the connection between health and the Christian faith is SO relevant. We tend to think of these parts of our lives are completely separate things, but I have come to find that approaching health with a Biblical worldview is the best thing I can do for my health, and that the deep desire I’ve developed to discover more about nature and our bodies can help me know more about God. Because it’s a strong interest I have, it’s one of the best ways for me to understand the greatness and goodness of God.
For me, approaching health from a biblical standpoint means knowing that 1. Our bodies are not defective- God make them well. That has huge implications for how we approach healing. 2. That the closer something (food, product) is to how God created it, the better it is for us in the long run. We’ve never improved on God’s Creation by synthesizing it, genetically modifying it, etc. 3. Wisdom about health does not have to be ever changing, confusing and contradictory. We can discern what is true with sound biblical foundations of truth and knowing that God’s Creation has order, not randomness.
